Call For Applicants: Media Artist Board Members

Centre[3] for Print and Media Arts is seeking individuals to join our Board of Directors.

The Centre[3] Board of Directors is composed of up to 12 volunteer Members. Two openings for media artists are currently available.

Applications are due March 31, 2017.

All applicants should demonstrate experience in contemporary and/or community arts. While an orientation will be conducted, past experience with artist-run centres and non-profit arts organizations will be seen as an asset.

Centre[3] for Print and Media Arts is an artist-run centre dedicated to promoting print and media arts in contemporary artistic discourse for practicing artists and the community at large. As a production, exhibition, education centre and animator of community arts, Centre[3] supports both traditional and experimental print media and media art practices. The centre encourages research and innovation and provides forums for discussion and examination of critical and theoretical issues.

Description of Role
Board members take an active role in the governance of the organization. We are looking for individuals who are willing to:

* Commit to the Centre[3] vision, mission, and values.

* Make a commitment to one two-year term, running December 2016 – November 2018.

* Attend a minimum of 8 board meetings a year in person, at Centre[3], Hamilton ON. Meetings are held on the last Monday of the month.

* Participate in one Board Committee (on average four meetings a year).

* Ensure Centre[3] serves the public by creating and disseminating knowledge and promoting accessibility and inclusivity.

* Assure the financial stability of the organization, by obtaining the support and resources necessary to maintain and enhance programs and services at Centre[3].

* Develop long range plans, forming, approving, and monitoring policies.

* Support Centre[3] by attending the AGM, as well as openings, events and fundraisers.

* Promote Centre[3] events by sharing event materials with your personal networks.
