An intro to photoshop. Through this four-week course, we will learn to navigate the complexities of Adobe Photoshop. The class will begin with learning the basics of the tool bar and end with an understanding of how to utilize the main features of Photoshop. Some of the areas of focus will include. Layers, DPI and image size, Transformation tools, Colour manipulation, and preparing images to print. Students are welcome to make use of our iMacs or bring their own laptops*. *some features are dependent on version; CS6 or newer is recommended but not required.
Artist Bio: Alex Borghesan is a multidisciplinary artist with a focus on technical process. He works in the realms of ceramics, traditional print and digital imaging where colour, form and surface alteration come together in unique ways. Earning an HBFA in 2015 and putting many years of work in digital image editing allows him a vast perspective from creation to image preparation, which provides a holistic view of the art creation process.
IMPORTANT: Fees must be paid in full upon registration. Centre reserves the right to cancel courses 2 business days before the start date. Courses cancelled by Centre will be refunded in full. Participants who withdraw 10 or more business days prior to first class will be issued a credit for the full amount of their registration. We are unable to provide refund/credit for withdrawal fewer than 10 business days prior to first class. No make-up classes/substitutions provided.
Many of our workshops and courses make use of upper & lower levels of the facility and may involve small amounts of physical labour depending on the processes involved. ACCESSIBILITY: Centre is partially physically accessible. We have a level entrance leading to our shop, information desk, galleries, washroom and traditional print studio. Unfortunately, we do not have automatic doors or an elevator. Our silkscreen studios and digital lab are only accessible by stairs. We are working toward becoming a physically accessible space in the future.
