Letterpress and bookbinding

This two-day workshop involves typesetting and making own letterpress print on our studio’s Vandercook Proof Press. On the Second day, two simple bookbinding techniques will be covered, and participants will incorporate their letterpress prints as the covers of the notebooks.

Artist Bio: Sara Froese owns and operates a letterpress print shop called All Sorts Press out of Hamilton, ON, where she specializes in producing hand-crafted printed matter using an antique human-powered printing press. She prints custom work as well as her own cards, notebooks, calendars and prints using a combination of illustration, traditional typesetting, and lino block carving.

Participants who withdraw 10 or more business days prior to first class will be issued a credit for the full amount of their registration. We are unable to provide refund/credit for withdrawal fewer than 10 business days prior to first class. No make-up classes/substitutions provided.

ACCESSIBILITY: Centre[3] is partially physically accessible. We have a level entrance leading to our shop, information desk, galleries, washroom and traditional print studio. Unfortunately, we do not have automatic doors or an elevator. Our silkscreen studios and digital lab are only accessible by stairs. We are working toward becoming a physically accessible space in the future.
