Salwa Issa

November 5 - december 3 , 2019

Opening Reception: Friday, November 8 - 7:00pm - 10:00pm

Aqua fantasy – a symphony of waterfalls, light, and earth. Hues of textured blues, whites, and grey mixed with occasional metallic and red streaks instill a subtle mood of afternoon walks and discovery. This exhibit is a testament, echoing the artist’s (and her home country’s) memory, of the dramatic play of water and earth, light and darkness, existence and void.
Salwa Issa, a Syrian born, Hamilton based artist, combines energetic rhythms with flowing water in pursuit of a hidden space that straddles order and chaos. An architect by training, she immigrated to Canada over 20 years ago and now draws inspiration from her Mediterranean childhood, the Niagara escarpment, and Hamilton’s waterfalls.

Accessibility
We are partially physically accessible. We have a level entrance leading to our shop, information desk, galleries, washroom and traditional print studio. Unfortunately, we do not have automatic doors or an elevator. We are working toward becoming a physically accessible space in the future.
