Eli Farinango & Tanzima Chowdhury

March 7 - April 2, 2019

Opening Reception: Friday, March 8, 2019 - 7:00pm - 10:00pm

Between my lines is an exposé birthed from conversations of being “the Other” and within this sacred space, these worlds share their stories of vulnerability to break your illusion of their visage. They are ready for your questions, the question is: “What do you want to Know?” Around us are precarious politics and dangerous myths, shaded with fear and uncertainty, with the rising number of hate crimes, incidents of prejudice and discrimination, let’s get to know each “Other.” By starting a movement of asking questions, a culture of connection may erupt.

Eli Farinango is a photographer, whose practice revolves around indigeneity, intergenerational trauma, and alternative healing. Her work has been featured in Remezcla, Telesur English, Waging NonViolence, Red Rising Magazine, St. Sucia Zine, in the Permanent Forum for Indigenous Peoples at the UN, This Is World Town.

Tanzima Chowdhury is a social entrepreneur and story scraper who experiments with media and life to change the narrative and document realities. She is a Future of Audio Entertainment Fellow at the DO School in Berlin and recipient of the Flatiron + Facebook Breakthrough Scholarship.

Accessibility

We are partially physically accessible. We have a level entrance leading to our shop, information desk, galleries, washroom and traditional print studio. Unfortunately, we do not have automatic doors or an elevator. We are working toward becoming a physically accessible space in the future.
