Dream of Sleeping

Owen Eric Wood

Curated By: Jim Riley

October 14 - November 26, 2016
Opening Reception: Friday, October 14 – 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

“What are we when stripped of our bodies and social identities? Where are we when dislodged from this physical world?”

Owen Eric Wood creates a three-channel video installation exploring ideas connected to time-space, and the conscious and unconscious self. He creates his video images using a process he calls “re-projection.” Wood experienced a dream where his future was his present state. In his dream, his father had died but is was alive in the physical world; he had a son in the dream but no son in his awakened state; and he shifted from one location to another. This out-of-body experience created a curiosity in him that is the focus of this exhibition.
