Jeanette Johns is from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and her fascination with landscape is based in her prairie roots. She combines both empirical and theoretical knowledge to explore the intersection with attributes of mathematics, patterning and geometry. Johns has taken part in exhibitions and residencies across Canada and internationally. She is the recipient of many awards and grants, including a Graduate Scholarship from the Social Science and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). Johns holds a BFA (honours) from the University of Manitoba, and is completing her MFA at Concordia University in Montréal.
