Karen Bergsteinsson grew up in a waterfront home on Lake of the Woods in Northern Ontario. Being surrounded by water as a child is what inspires her as an artist to engage the viewer in such universal themes as the conflict between power and powerlessness, surface and hidden depth, chaos and control. For Karen, both water and the creative process represent the constant possibility of transformation and regeneration. Karen has had solo exhibitions at Centre3 for Print and Media Arts as well as group exhibitions in Hamilton, Toronto and Montreal.
