Guest Artists, Art Crawl and a trip to a Buddhist Temple!
Written By: Centre Admin
As part of week 8, guest artist Chelsea Bellrose has began recreational therapy as part of the Health for Life elective. Nusteelers ventured off to a Buddhist Temple on the Hamilton Mountain and met Sisiter Tinh Quang who shared stories and talked about the temple – how it was decorated, who visited, and gave an opportunity for students to ask questions. This fit perfectly as it made references to the book they are currently reading called “A Tale For The Time Being.”
Weeks 8, 9 and 10, NuSteelers continued to work on and print their artist self-portraits which are coming due soon! Also, continued working on their Holiday cards – the goal is to create 1500 cards in total! Each student has made their own design and will screen print their one-colour design to sell during the Holidays! Nusteelers really focussed on knowing their audience as well as what is appropriate to sell, which led nicely into a branding lesson from guest artist Eder Saos in week 10! Stay tuned for a big surprise from NuSteelers coming soon!
Also in week 10, NuSteelers set up for Art Crawl November 11th from 7-10pm and sold prints, t-shirts, and tote bags to the public and really showcased all the hard work they have done so far!
