Here's what the class is all about...

This printmaking course is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of additive and reductive copperplate intaglio/ etching techniques. Class sessions include technical demonstrations using various combinations of etching, dry point and aquatint. Students in the course will learn to control all of these elegant printmaking techniques and lay the foundation for complex image making.

Laine Groeneweg is an artist and printmaker living in Hamilton, Canada. He trained at  Fondazione Il Bisonte Per Lo Studio Dell’Arte Grafica in Florence, Italy with a focus on intaglio printmaking. Since then, Laine has been widely recognized for his mezzotint and drypoint works. His prints explore the possibilities of a traditional technique in the wake of more contemporary production methods. Laine’s work has been exhibited Nationally and Internationally and is held in a number of private and public collections.
