Here's what the class is all about...
Discover two different ways to marble paper during this two-day workshop. You will learn how to subtley float ink on water to create Japanese Suminagashi and also the vibrant & intricate patterns of marbling on carrageenan. Marbled paper can be used for card making, printmaking, bookbinding, collage, fibre arts, wrapping paper or can be simply framed. You will leave with a stack of marbled paper in a spectacular array of patterns & colours of your own design.
**Please note there will be an additional $25 materials fee payable to the instructor at the beginning of class.
Heather is an interdisciplinary artist who has both fleeting and episodic installation projects as well as very long term explorations. She is currently in Year 17 of a 25 Year Book Arts Project. While she enjoys all of the book arts, she habitually returns to marbling which she still finds absolutely mesmerizing. She has taught students ranging from ages 7 to 78 years old. She is a member of CBBAG (Canadian Bookbinders & Book Arts Guild).
