Lithography Course

Location: Centre[3] for Artistic and Social Practice, 173 James St N

Materials: All materials provided, except for paper. Recommendations for purchasing paper can be discussed.
 
Cost: $450 (Centre[3] members receive a 15% discount)
 
Class Size: Limited to 8-10 participants
 
Skill Level: All levels welcome. Participants should be able to lift heavy objects, perform repetitive motions, and stand for extended periods. Mobility limitations may be a factor.

  • Drawing on the stones using crayons and tusche
  • Processing and etching stones
  • Printing techniques
  • Creating print editions
 
This course offers a comprehensive introduction to lithography, a traditional printmaking technique. Participants will learn the fundamental steps involved in creating lithographic prints, from drawing on stone to etching and printing. The course is suitable for beginners and experienced printmakers alike, providing a hands-on experience with this versatile art form.

Accessibility

Our Harriet street location is partially physically accessible. We have a level entrance leading to our shop, information desk, galleries, washroom and traditional print studio. Unfortunately, we do not have automatic doors or an elevator. We are working toward becoming a physically accessible space in the future.
