YouthCAN

YouthCAN is a collective impact group working with over 30 organizations in Hamilton to reduce the NEET (not in employment, education, or training) rate. We have established in 2018 that the 2017 Stats Canada NEET rate is 13.0%, together we aim to reduce that rate in youth ages 15-29 by 10% by the year 2025. We are fortunate to have the information from Statistics Canada, who annually collects the NEET rate in every city and province. This enables us to measure our long-term impact in Hamilton.  We are happy to report the NEET rate for 2018 is 11.88%, which means we have met our goal of reducing the NEET rate by 10% in Hamilton for youth aged 15-29. Our new goal is to reduce the NEET rate by 15% by the year 2025.
