Do What You Like: Explorations in Digital Painting

With this selection I demonstrate some of the artistic possibilities of digital painting. My artworks show the product of my experiments with colour, form, transparency and layering. Some works are paired with earlier drawings or prints and have been digitally “recut” or transformed into paintings.

Herbarium

Herbarium is a series of digitally captured botanical photographs that capture the meditative space of the garden. The flowers and plants photographed were chosen for their symbolic meanings and traditional herbal uses. The Victorian language of flowers, herbariums, gardener’s lore and cultural symbolism are all combined, creating images that invite contemplation and thought. The four pieces each represent Health, Heart, Clarity and Farewell.
