Helena Rakic

December 5 - January 2 , 2020

Opening Reception: Friday, December 13 - 7:00pm - 10:00pm

Plastics are currently taking over our oceans, and overflowing landfills. It is alarming, and this anxiety has propelled me to create a series of five lithographs that reflect on the current global crisis of accumulated waste, and how it affects us currently, and colours our future. I believe we can transform waste into some- thing reusable and beautiful, and to continue life mindfully by cutting back on plastic production.

Helena Rakic is an artist and printmaker living in Toronto, Canada. She studied at Laval University specializing in lithography. Helena is currently a student at the Academy of Realist Art studying both drawing and painting in the traditional methods and is continuing her practice in printmaking at Open Studio.

Accessibility

We are partially physically accessible. We have a level entrance leading to our shop, information desk, galleries, washroom and traditional print studio. Unfortunately, we do not have automatic doors or an elevator. We are working toward becoming a physically accessible space in the future.
