Racquel Rowe: Saltwater Cures All

Saltwater Cures All is Racquel Rowe’s solo exhibition featuring their video work “Bodies of Water” (2023) with a new accompanying sound installation.

“I consider performative action as a form of exploratory, open-ended research that is constantly unfolding. Basing my practice in historical research allows me to have a better understanding of contemporary evolving relationships between culture and lived experiences. Bodies of Water (2023) is a video artwork that is birthed between multiple places both physically and metaphorically. Filmed in multiple locations across Barbados the piece conceptually explores the formation of the Black Atlantic, personal, and familial connections to the sea, relationships between Black people and water, and the idea of rebirth.” – Racquel Rowe
