WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

Practice English, meet new faces and learn a new skill with our upcoming Weaving Group!

The Immigrants Working Centre is a non-profit, equality-seeking, anti-racism, and multi-service organization dedicated to promoting immigrants’ success in a just and supportive Hamilton. In this 6-week workshop series, participants will learn to weave on a rigid heddle loom while practicing English through conversation. 

Weaving Group will meet every Tuesday for six weeks starting November 1, 2022 to December 6, 2022, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Online Zoom Info Session: Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. Zoom link will be sent upon registration.

Weaving Group workshops are geared towards newcomers to Canada, but all inquiries are welcome.

This workshop series is co-presented by the Immigrants Working Centre and Centre[3] for Artistic and Social Practice, and is generously supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, the City of Hamilton, and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
