A scene is unfolding. One which is discomforting. One which is confusing. it is very much in motion, and stopping it feels impossible. Are we spectators? Or are we actors, participating through our gaze? No one seems to be choosing. Agency is ruined, and everyone has become the Bystander.
Gabriel Baribeau is a Hamilton based artist. His practice focuses on sculpture, and oil painting. His work emphasizes painting’s capacity for contemporary visual poetry and storytelling. He works with themes of environmental precarity, the consumer as a global role, and art as a proponent of social change and community building.
We are partially physically accessible. We have a level entrance leading to our shop, information desk, galleries, washroom and traditional print studio. Unfortunately, we do not have automatic doors or an elevator. We are working toward becoming a physically accessible space in the future.
